The Law of Attraction is based upon the belief that it is possible for anyone to have anything they want in life. Although the concept became extremely popular after the release of Rhonda Byrnes‘ “The Secret“ in 2006, the ideas had actually been spoken and written about decades prior. So, whilst Ms Byrnes is to be applauded for bringing the concept more into the public arena, it should be noted that this was not an entirely “new” philosophy.
In 1962, Earl Shoaff gave a presentation at the Essex House in New York City. Mr John Earl Shoaff, was commonly referred to as “The Millionaire Maker” and is believed to have heavily influenced the early development of entrepreneurs such as Jim Rohn, Zig Ziglar and Mary Kay Ash. Originally entitled “How To Get Everthing You Want Out Of Life,” J. Earl Shoaff’s recording, renamed “The Millionaire Maker,” can now be purchased online.
So, What Is The Law Of Attraction?
The Law of Attraction is based on the premise that both conscious and sub-conscious thoughts have a direct influence on what we attract into our lives i.e. like attracts like. It goes deeper than just positive thinking as it entails positive emotions as well as acceptance.
Now whilst there may be no scientific explanation, the Law of Attraction can have amazing effects. Sceptics say that this is probably attributable to the placebo effect eg. illusions increasing self esteem, which boosts self confidence and in turn
leads to success.
